ÖKOPROFIT is a co-operation project between local authorities, local businesses and other partners that encourages companies of all sizes and from all sectors to conserve resources and implement environmental protection measures. The participating companies take part in specialised workshops in which they deal with environmentally relevant topics ranging from energy efficiency to the handling of hazardous substances and receive individual advice. Over 2300 companies in North Rhine-Westphalia have successfully participated in ÖKOPROFIT projects, saving costs and making a contribution to environmental protection, with measures such as efficient lighting, modern heating systems and environmental training playing an important role.
