With full process control from melt, full control of the cold working process to develop unique mechanical properties with searching NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) to further assure product integrity.

Particle-accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland.
100 m below the earth’ surface of Geneva, a tunnel, 27 km (16.8 miles) long and more than nine times the weight of the Eiffel Tower, contains elementary particles, so called Hadrons, which are being accelerated to up to 99% of the speed of light – and subsequently destroyed.
Its name: LHC – the Large Hadron Collider

Contributing to a project, that has gained scientific and public attention worldwide, means a lot of responsibility. That is why our products live up to the highest standards.
After working in close cooperation with CERN scientists, our tubes are now running the very core of the LHC:
- 54 km of Cold Bore Tubes, Grade DMV 316LN
- 27 km of tubing service line, Grade DMV 304L
These are the tubes where the actual collisions take place.
Our products couldn't be any closer to the action.
Detailed information on the Large Hadron Collider:
ITER: "The Way" in Latin, is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today.
In southern France, 35 nations are collaborating to build the world's largest tokamak, a magnetic fusion device designed to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our sun and stars.
ITER is designed to produce a ten-fold return on energy (Q=10), or 500 MW of fusion power from 50 MW of input heating power.
ITER's First Plasma is scheduled for December 2025.
Here at MST we are proud to have developed a unique tube profile in modified 316L for the superconducting magnet system of Poloidal Field (PF) coils in addition to providing nuclear specification circular tubes on the Toroidal Field (TF) coils. Working side-by-side with engineers from design development to testing and production and final certification.
